PNP Germanium Phototransistor Clear Glass SO2 Case Type OCP71

PNP germanium transistor OC71 without black paint intended as photo-transistor. Red dot indicates collector.
The OCP71 was available from 1956. Apparently it was an ordinary OC71 without the black paint (so called DOPE). Because the OC71 was cheaper to buy some people just scrapped of the black paint on the OC71 to create an OCP71. Later the manufacturer changed the capsules from clear to opaque to prevent this practice.
